Last revision of this text: 2007-05-08 Database only to help create .MIS for all movies from 189x/2006 to now For direct download and at a much faster speed: http://www.i2mfan.com http://www.misfan.com (see blog for news, feed) Info2MIS (free) =============== Create .MIS in 2 clicks for a movie http://www.mcgrathinfosolution.com/info2mis_en.htm MIS Info Video (free, Front end/Player) ======================================= It includes an integrated video player (avi, mpeg, wmv, mp3...). What's nice, is that you can resume a file with it from another computer/account. Check it out! http://www.mcgrathinfosolution.com/misinfovideo_en.htm or French page http://www.mcgrathinfosolution.com/misinfovideo_fr.htm A new version will be available on the first update or near the end of the month. The IMDB ftp files are updated and available each Friday or sometimes Monday. With Info2MIS, I created the database for all movies(from 189x/2006 to now). I saved you 8 hours of heavy use of the hard disk/cpu. So, you can still can do other stuff at the same time. This is the database only and not the application. The rar contain 2 text files, 2 Creating a .MIS video(rar) and a subfolder "\data9999spec" with the data. Monthly update(No need to reindex anymore): 189x : 270MB rar and 1.35Gig unrar Perfect for old movies. 2006 : 21MB rar and 90-138MB unrar Perfect for recent DVD movies or test it out ************************************************************************* This version is specific(not all the info but most of it) about movies: Movies Aka Titles Ratings Ratings Top 250 Ratings Bottom 10 Plot Actress Actor Directors Writer Producer Business MPAA reason Genre Release Dates Countries Certificates Trivia Goofs Crazy Credits Tagline Soundtracks Alternate Versions Quotes Location Language Distributor Keyword Color Information Running Times Movie Links Literature All the instructions (step by step) are in "How to create MIS.txt" ************************************************************************* For better search result with I2M : Name the movie to something more clearer. Most of the time, the name is not changed. example: "My Horror Movie 2005.avi" D:\Movies\Horror My Horror Movie 2005.avi My Horror Movie 2005 Sample.avi My Horror Movie 2005 Trailer.avi My Horror Movie 2005 DVD cover.jpg My Horror Movie 2005 DVD back.jpg My Horror Movie 2005 English.srt My Horror Movie 2005 Spanish.srt My Horror Movie 2005.idx My Horror Movie 2005.sub The basic ideal is: movie.avi movie.jpg(cover) movie.mis Work great with the movies I recorded from TV. :D It's for a 10-foot TV viewing(HTPC). On a big screen (50 inch), a "32" is better than the "18" like you see on the bottom of the picture. The basic version is used for the shows. In the registered version, you won't have to change to "32" everytime and you get other stuff(see above). You now see what the picture is used for. To give you an ideal of the result(main page): Movie: http://www.i2mfan.com/blue_crush_example.htm TV: http://www.i2mfan.com/tvseries_example.htm Don't worry if you have "-" or "." in the name. It's the word that counts ************************************************************************* What is a .MIS(i2mfan definition)? A .MIS is a metadata text file formatted to help in the organization of all the movies you got in folders. I2M will try to give the best movie title based on the file name. Once, you have given the good IMDB title, a .MIS will be written for each movie file. The .MIS will contain almost all the information that is on the IMDB.COM from plot, trivia, goof, actors, crew.... So instead of going to the IMDB.COM for information, you just read it from the .MIS with notepad or better yet, with MIV. Useful if your are offline! I record a lot of movies with my computer video capture card from my TV source. With I2M and MIV, my parents or I don't need to remember what the movie was all about because of the .MIS. It goes well beyond the EPG. I also put the URL of the movie from IMDB.COM to be able to click on actors afterward to see in what movie he/she was in when I'm connected to the internet. Thank you IMDB.COM to be open and make available most of your database. For now, MIV is the only application that can read and use the .MIS. MIV will create a small database based on each .MIS in a folder and then you select a movie thru MIV, it will read the .MIS and show you the information in a 10 foot interface (HTPC) so you could see it from your couch, monitor or bedroom TV if you have a computer attached. A wireless mouse or a mouse with a long cable is useful if you want to seat from a distance from the monitor. I hope hardware DVD (DiVX) will support it in the future. The registred version of MIV will give you additional features but the unregistred one is still useful for basic needs. I hope I gave you enough information but I suggest that you try it for yourself and I can help you if you need it. If you find the information lacking PM or add a comment so that the next time it will be more complete ;-)
