Open letter from i2mfan(2006-12-01): Starting today(2006-12-01), I will no longer maintain i2mfan.com site because I did not have the time needed. I gave control to Steve McGrath (owner of M.I.S.). I still believed in the .MIS concept and will continue to promote it's uses in my own way. I will visit the site and test the software. I created a simple private site so that anyone in my family could have an email. I do recommend it (see support me #3). I hope that will help and support him like you did with me. Thank you and I will see you around!
About me(Steve McGrath): I'm the guy with the many hats in M.I.S. For now, I'm the only one in the company. Family/Friends/users help me out but I do make the final decisions. I used the we/our on the M.I.S. site so that when I will be able to grow the company, I won't have to change much of it. Hey!, I'm optimist! I lack in Web design (but still learning) and graphics. I can't know everything (web) or have the aptitude (graphics) for it! I know French (first language) and English (second language). I have 15+ years of experience in database development with Visual Foxpro, user support and technical support. Visual Foxpro can be use in many kind of project (big or small) but is often discounted out of hand for no reasons. I'm using it in my products to show what it can do. One thing for sure is that it can be very fast to handle millions of records. I like my HTPC and I do use it. But, seeing the competition in Front end was becoming crowded at the time and did not want to go commercial with my home made HTPC Front end, I saw an opportunity for make a bridge between them by creating the MIS specification. Each video/image/audio made can now be tagged in the same manner and simply read the same way by software or consumer electronics. MIS Info Video started out has a module from my home made HTPC Front end and I decided to make it better. So now, MIS Info Video is the reader while Info2MIS is the writer of the .MIS. Competitive products (free or commercial) can now use the MIS specification by looking at our products and see what it can do in there own products. If you are a user, ask them to look at it. I have to make a living so I decided to go with donation(in 2007) for MIS Info Video or ask for a low royalties for the MIS specification. I'm not greedy but I have to eat. Note(2007-02-18 by Steve): i2mfan was for: I, too, am a Fan of ..... I recycle it to: Info2MIS Fan site.
About the site: I plan many changes in the coming weeks/months but I will continue what i2mfan started. It will take some time before I change all the pages. The M.I.S. software available here are safe (and was always safe). You can download them without risk.
